One good thing—May 16-21, 2011

Anagram. After the initial resistance, this was really quite fun!

Tuesday, May 17, 2011.
Another anagram. These are so much fun, I had to do another.

Great new website—www.wordle.net. It lets you enter words and generates a "word cloud" in customizable styles. This is a re-do of our word-cloud.

More tablet drawing. I wish my fingers were tinier!

Friday, May 20, 2011.
A condensation-free glass. It's going to be a good summer!

Saturday, May 21, 2011.
Don't you just love finding things?

Sunday, May 22, 2011.
Bought another new app. While it purports to be "educational," it's fun!

One good thing—May 15, 2011

Thought it might be fun to see where I'm at every so often. Self portrait in a tiny purse mirror.

One good thing—May 13, 2011

Decided just the doing could be my one good thing. And it was! I got so engrossed, I had to keep going and do two.

One good thing—May 12, 2011

Got an unexpected "thank you"—a box of See's Truffles. And used my new metallic gel pen.

One good thing—May 11, 2011

Grapes. Besides the taste, they were one good thing I did for myself—chosing grapes instead of a sundae. Actually, two good things—enjoyed drawing them on my new app. No, one good thing, it crashed before I could save. No, make that two after all—I had a feeling it was going to crash and took a photo before I lost the sketch.

One good thing—May 10, 2011

Library night. Always a good thing!

One good thing—May 9, 2011

Bought some new art supplies—and had hours of fun imagining how they would transform my drawing skills. Guess I haven't found the right supplies yet, but it's fun trying.

One good thing—May 8, 2011

I know the obvious good thing would be "Mom"—it is Mother's Day, after all. But the fruit truck is back and everyone thinks that's a good thing—Mom, too.

One good thing—May 6, 2011

My Nook upgraded early in the morning and I downloaded my first app that evening. Just one—Drawing Pad. Didn't have time for more as I spent the rest of the night playing with my first one!

One good thing—May 4, 2011

It's a small thing, but a good one nonetheless—getting off work on time!

One good thing—May 3, 2011

Discovered a new Chinese restaurant. Still waiting for the great honor.

One Good Thing—May 2, 2011

This is the day I discovered gel pens. I think I'm hooked!

Day one!

Wow--it looks like there's some strange kind of serendipity going on here with the chickens and eggs. And if we can trust our blog, it looks like the chicken came first....if only by a minute!

20 Expressions in 20 Minutes

Just to get things going, the task was to draw each of the 5 universal symbols: a square, a circle, a triangle, a cross, and a spiral, and then chose the one you liked best at this particular moment.  This symbol would be your creative focus for the next 20 minutes or so while you gave it expression in whatever why you could think of.  Here’s our results:

cross ll

LL created way more than 20 images of the cross symbol, plus bonus points for arranging them all in that shape!

spiral eko

EKO selected a spiral to explore out of the 5 universal shapes, and found some, drew others, and created more.

spiral sjd  SJD also worked with the spiral and came up with even more renditions of the symbol.

spiral pc PC was drawn to the spiral symbol and brought forth some unique images of it as displayed here.

spiral paoAnd yes, pao had chosen the spiral for her creative expression as well, and here’s her offering of spiraliousness!
